October 2, 1935 – May 1936: Italy takes over Ethiopia.
October 25 – November 1, 1936: Oct. 25 Germany and Italy sign a treaty of cooperation and on Nov. 1 Rome- Berlin Axis is announced.
November 25, 1936: Germany and Japan sign the Anti- Comintern Pact.
July 7, 1937: Japan invades China which starts up World War 2 in the Pacific.
March 11 – 13, 1938: Germany incorporates Austria into the Anschluss.
September 29, 1938: Germany, Italy, Great Britain, and France sign the Munich agreement.
March 31, 1939: France and Great Britain guarantee the integrity of the borders of the Polish state.
April 7 – 15, 1939: Italy takes over Albania.
August 23, 1939: Germany and the Soviet Union sign a nonaggression agreement.
September 1, 1939: Germany invades Poland starting up World War 2 in Europe.

November 1940: Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania join the Axis.
March 1, 1941: Bulgaria joins the Axis.
December 6, 1941: A Soviet counteroffensive drives the Germans from the Moscow suburbs in a chaotic retreat.
December 7, 1941: Japan bombs Pearl Harbor.
December 8, 1941: United States enters World War 2 by declaring War on Japan for the Pearl Harbor attack.
December 11 – 13, 1941: Germany and the rest of the Axis powers declare war on the United States.
June 1942: The United States and the British navies stopped the Japanese naval force in Midway and in the Central Pacific.
October 23 – 24, 1942: Germany and Italy got defeated by British troops at El Alamein, Egypt.
May 13, 1943: North African Campaign was ended by the Axis forces in Tunisia to Allied forces.
July 5, 1943: Germans launch a massive tank offensive near Kursk, Soviet Union.
July 25, 1943: The Fascist Grand Council deposes Mussolini allowing the Italians marshal to form a new government not under Mussolini’s control.
September 8, 1943: The Badoglio government surrender to the Allies. Also the Germans got control of Rome and the northern part of Italy.
March 19, 1944: Germans occupy Hungary.
June 4, 1944: Allied troops liberate Rome and American bombers can finally hit targets that they have in Eastern Germany.
June 6, 1944: The British and the United States successfully land in the Normandy beaches opening up a second front against the Germans.
June 22, 1944: The Soviet Union put a huge offensive in Eastern Byelorussia which destroyed the German Army Group Center.
August 20 – 25, 1944: on August 20 the Allied troops reach Paris and on August 25, Free French forces enter the French capital, while they were being supported by the Allie troops.
September 12, 1944: Finland concludes an armistice with the Soviet Union, leaving the Axis partnership.
October 20, 1944: United States troops landed over in the Philippines.
December 16, 1944: Germans launch a final offensive in the west which is also known as the Battle of the Bulge, trying to re- conquer Belgium. Germans ended up retreating.
January 12, 1945: The Soviet Union launched a new offensive liberating Warsaw and Krakow.
February 13, 1945: The Soviets capture Budapest which in turns drive Germany and their Hungarian collaborators out of Hungary.
April 16, 1945: The Soviet Union launches their final offensive, encircling Berlin.
